Interview: Malin Lindhwall

Isn't it perfect to interview an makeup artist (except myslef)

to my makeup blog? Malin Lindhwall is one of the best

persons I know. She has two blogs:
shades.blogg.se & mugshots.blogg.se.

Why did you start to blog?
- Because it was fun, but not a must, more a thing

to then when I wish and feel like it. 

Advantages & disadvantage in the "blog-world"?
- Internet is the disadvantage & advantage because it is easy to
talk trash about people but also easy to spread knowledge &
make a name since internet is available for anyone.

For how long have you been bloging?

- More or less about 5 years.

She took me by storm when she first started her internship at Make Up Store.

I quickly realized that this was not just a sweet & nice girl but also

a girl with kick-ass makeup skills. And this is how her makeup career started.

How would you describe yourself?
- Positive, nice, energetic.

Describe your personal style.
- Whaat? Noo...ehh...black clothes

and smokey eyes? Classic?

What's most important to you?
- Friends/family, job, spare time.

What do you study?

- Entrepreneur at my high school.

Plans for the future?

I guess you talk about career etc. but I'm going to answer

to learn to seize the day and live for the moment.

When Malin quite suddenly was thrown into
the makeup artist industry, I thought quite
quickly about all of the benefits & drawbacks that she will
experience in the profession. Malin is strong woman

so the choice of profession was no problem for her.

What's the best & the worst about being a makeup artist?
- Best: To meet a lot of people and play with you creativity. 

Worst: Hard to get a steady job which gives you a secure & good income.

Do you have a special style/makeup style that you prefer?

- Smokey eyes, bright makeups & 50's.

To the ones you recommend, do you have any good tips for 

 success or a good pep talk?

 - Creative people with good social skills & good 

stress management can work as a makeup artist. 

Stress management applies mainly to those who are freelancing.
  Do not recommend to those who want to have fixed times, to 

those who find it hard to meet new people 

all the time, or to those who find it hard to contact new people. 

Pep talk, believe in yourself & work hard as hell, it's fun.

 - Self-confidence & good self-image.

- Base Prep, Matte foundation, Brushes.

- MUS, H&M, Eleven.
